But people think having a huge garden make a building green.

Green building is more of technical and calculated, its a long way of a lot of small and significant measures collectively composed and aligned in a responsible way to achieve it.

Its important to design green buildings, it takes a great amount of knowledge and patients to sculpture one.

Sustainability

The world sustainability is exploited in the market, its used in all the main stream products and it looks easy to adapt one but when u cross examine it you will know what is truth. Green building material again is one of the pawn in the game of sustainable building,

It starts from analyzing the climate of the location and then design it with bio-climatic strategies and climate responsive elements then orientation it accordingly, its the most important thing, then study the sun path to design fenestration, further adapt a ton of passive designs trying to eliminate the active features in the building. Thermal comfort, and thermal properties of the building material plays an important role. Efficiency is the main key, look for efficient lighting and plumbing fixtures. Conservation is more important then all because resources are not infinite, so conserve electricity and water. Waste management, Water management & Energy management should be given importance. Window to wall ratio, shading devices, projection factor and most importantly day light analysis and energy modeling of a building must be done. Residence well being Solar and water harvesting, Recycling unit and using Landscape for shading, cutting heat island effect, improving humidity plus adopting only native spices and drought tolerant spices. Further the list will continue and get more and more technical.
